Our history

The VUITTON Sawmill was founded on October 1, 1973, founded by Georges and Arthur VUITTON, accompanied by their sons Alain, Roger, Claude and Daniel. Originally specialized in forest exploitation, they decided together to create their own sawmill to control the entire wood chain.

Transmission

The following year, Martine, Alain's wife, joined the adventure. The family succession continued with the arrival of Olivier in 1992, then Sébastien in 2004.

Commitment

For more than 50 years, the company has evolved in accordance with its roots and its commitment to quality work.

BCFC, a subsidiary of the Vuitton sawmill

At La Scierie Vuitton, nothing is lost. Sawing wood inevitably generates co-products, sawdust, chips and bark, which we call related products. Rather than considering it as waste, we have chosen to ensure its complete and local recovery, in partnership with BCFC, Bois et Connexes de Franche-Comté.

BCFC is a company created in 2004 by sawmills from Franche-Comté, of which Scierie Vuitton is one of the partner sawmills. It ensures the collection and valorization of all our co-products: sawdust, shavings, sawmill chips and bark, intended for energy production, composting or the manufacture of wood panels.

This partnership is fully in line with our CSR approach: 100% of our related products are valued locally, without wasting material. Each tree processed in our sawmill is thus exploited in its entirety, while respecting natural resources and territories.

In concrete terms, this is what responsible and sustainable use of wood means for us.
